MY CAREER

My name is Chris Morren (b.1961) and I am the founder, owner and operator of Great Outdoor Advertising and CMPR, which is a sole proprietorship registered with the Province of Ontario. This is the second incarnation of GOA which began on February 1, 2022 with the rental of two (2) 10' x 20' floodlit billboards in Long Branch, shown at top. The first incarnation of GOA was started by yours truly in June of 1994, renting very large, third party, mural (hand painted) billboards in T.O. I sold GOA to Omni Outdoor in 2000, which ended up being bought by Astral Media, now owned by Bell Media. I am VERY familiar with the by-laws pertaining to third party advertising on 400-series highways in Ontario. And, as Aaron Waxman, the prolific advertising LTD lawyer in Toronto says, 'There is no such thing as bad questions !'

behind the scenes

I have been in the in the sign, billboard, promotional product and PR industries since 1987, having worked for the Jim Pattison Sign Group, Steel Art Signs, Standard Broadcasting, OMG (Olifas Marketing Group, not Oh My God !) Media, Metroland (Toronto Star) Media, and of course, me, myself and I. (I've been fired by more companies than I care to admit, but at least I'm not a quitter !). Here, my son Adam came behind the scenes at my Long Branch billboard location.

CMPR - ADVERTISING

If I can get publicity for myself and my little old billboard company on a shoestring budget, imagine what I can do for you. See @cmpr.inc on Instagram for more examples of marketing ideas I created and publicity I received. If you are up for getting your name out there, I am down for pretty much anything !

CMPR - PUBLICITY

Here are a few examples when I appeared in the Toronto Star, Marketing Magazine, The Toronto Sun, and the National Post. Also, search Chris Morren on YouTube for appearances on BNN, City News, and CBC News. Also, see my Instagram @cmpr.inc post on October 10/24 for my appearance on the Golf Channel at the 2024 RBC Canadian Open.

CMPR - Marketing

It's much easier to keep a customer than find one, so I strive to make sure customers are happy. Thank you to Minto for this shout out !

NEED A MASCOT ?

Here I am as Bonhomme from the Quebec Winter Carnaval at Sir Adam Beck Public School in Etobicoke, circa 2019.

CMPR - CASE STUDY (WITH A SENSE OF HUMOUR)

Wanna meet famous people? Take 'em a dozen Krispy Kremes (and hats, of course) ! I took a dozen donuts to David Corey and Marilyn Denis of CHUM FM's The Marilyn Denis Show and CTV's show of the same name, to promote the new Krispy Kreme factory location in the old Beer Store on Lakeshore in Mimico (where Brendan Shanahan, president of the TOronto Maple Leafs grew up). The old roller racks for bringing back your empties have been carefully restored and they even put a little beer in every donut. - JK :D. We are hoping Marilyn and the other DJ's on CHUM FM will mention this location on air to build awareness. I only got paid in donuts but I didn't mind because they were Krispy Kremes !
